It’s Back! // 2018 Weekly QA #1

So towards the end of last year I really started slacking off in regards to keeping the site and my social media updated, and I am not happy about it. So in 2018 one of my biggest goals is to really stay on top of the updates and providing killer content for you all so that you not only think of me when you are ready to get a boudoir session – but that you are also better prepared for it.

Starting this week I am going to be doing a weekly Q&A post where I will answer your questions about me, my style, my photography, etc. Sounds good? Great! Let’s get into it!

What style of photography did you start with? What got you into photography?

Great question! I originally got into photography as a way to spend time with my father, who was (and still is) also into photography. I was going to school at the time for Web Design and Interactive Media and so I used some of my student loan money to buy a camera while I was taking a photography course.

Following that I didn’t have much focus in terms of what I shot, though I did have (and still do) a lot of fun shooting sports photography at various levels. I’ve shot everything from High School football to Professional Soccer. However, I am very much focused and specialized in boudoir and intimate portraiture these days.

What do you say to someone who has been body shamed their whole life, but who loves to be in front of the camera?

I saw to do what you love and anyone who has a problem with it can screw off. I wouldn’t be shooting what I do if I didn’t believe this; in fact I would have been shooting this specialty a long long time before I did eventually start it if not for me worrying about what people would think. My point is just this, there will always be haters, no matter what you do. So you might as well do what you love to do, right? My other advice would t be to surround yourself with supportive friends who are not going to feed into that fear of being body shamed.

What got you started with shooting the Erotic work?

Honestly it was something that I had always thought that I would like to do and that I wanted to do. But I had never really figured out a way that I would feel comfortable asking someone to shoot that sort of content. So it wasn’t until I was asked about it by a couple that I was going to be shooting that I got my first chance to give it a shot. I had been right, I loved it and I was hooked.

So I put it out there that I was providing that service and now anyone who is interested, and is looking for that when coming across my site can see that, and know that I am an option. So I don’t have to grapple with the process of asking people myself, if that is what they are interested in, they can just tell me that when they reach out. It works great for me, and great for them.
